The Planar 8 is a belt-drive turntable built around a Tancast 8 polyurethane foam-core plinth with HPL laminate skins and phenolic resin double braces, featuring a triple-layer glass platter, RB880 tonearm, and 24 V synchronous motor paired with the Neo PSU offering electronic speed change and fine adjustment. The design draws on Rega's Naiad reference model, using lightweight skeletal construction with optional factory-fitted moving-magnet or moving-coil cartridges.
